What did the practice pad study to understand and help his students learn? ANSWER: He was an expert in PADagogy. (also expert in epistemology but that's not funny).

Thank you- very Educational. I’ve learned a few of these. I saw a guy slide his hand on the lower notes when he played the sharp and flat keys; seemed to work really well, especially as he was performing with a jazz pianist - helped with note / melody clarity. 👍🏻🥁🎵

Great job, very educational. That's two more than I knew. But I do love linguistics and etymology. So lets review, there are five ways to Damp: 1) pedal damp 2) hand damp 3) slide damp 4) touch-tone damping 5) adjacent note damping. But there is only one way to dampen 1) apply water to make it moist. Looks like we both learned something on this one. Damp vs dampen, damping vs dampening. Google those comparisons. And a question... where is dead-sticking represented, in touch-tone damping? Kind of but not really. Is there 6 ways to damp?

Wow, nicely done Casey. Excellent presentation on counting. When you presented the "x and y axes" I though you were going to head in a more esoteric direction of discussing they rhythms created by the patterns that go into making pitch, something I have mused over in the past. Here's what I mean, I think you may find it interesting ua-cam.com/video/XefsRkly1Vg/v-deo.html

Excellent, concise writing advise. I just discovered you Patti, through your Modern Love essay in the New York Times. I enjoyed your essay very much and while reading, thought about what a great writer you are! Now, having just watched your video, I feel a deeper connection to you. When my son was very young and I was home with him, I dedicated a few years to improving my writing. My son asked for a violin at five years old and enjoyed playing classical pieces. He was quite good and considering studying at a music conservatory when he died of an accidental opioid overdose in 2022. I also have a small non-profit dedicated to preventing sexual violence and sexual harassment. I just ordered "Sticking It Out". I look forward to spending time getting to know you through your book. Thank you for developing your writing skills, so that I could connect with you.
